Sizing for Designs
Okay, so this thread just seems to refuse to post.
What do people think about having general sizes so that our customers can easily pick the right one without much hastle. Also, if someone is only planning on doing three sizes what do you guys think those should be, for example.
Please remember to define what each size means to you (ie. the mesuurements)

Re: Sizing for Designs
good idea
extra small: waist below 25 inches, hips below 30, boobs below 30
small: 25 - 27 inch waist, hips around 32ish, boobs also around there
medium: 27 - 29.5ish, 35ish, 35ish
large: 29.5 - 32, 39ish, not sure about boobs
this puts me at a medium btw. do you think we need an extra large?

Re: Sizing for Designs
it's hard to say, i remember there being people at AN who were extra large but maybe we should just do commission work for them?
Re: Sizing for Designs
Mine are elastic waistbanded, so I wont need a size for that. If people are extra large then I guess it just won't fit, because in order to do an extra large I have to change the pattern around as opposed to one size fits all, and I don't know how many extra-large sized people there will be at AN versus the amount of extra-small to large sized people at AN.
Apart from that I'm making accessories though which don't need sizing.

Re: Sizing for Designs
okay
we should come up with cute names for all the sizes (maybe related to the name of our company?)
and correct me if i'm wrong, but these are the sizes we're making
1. one size
2. XS
3. S
4. M
5. L

Yeah.
Also did we ever end up deciding on a name? D:

Re: Sizing for Designs
No but we need a group decision and half the group doesn't post so we have a few suggestions there that haven't been shot down but haven't been accepted either.
Re: Sizing for Designs
Ah.
Well that's a bit of a problem D:

Re: Sizing for Designs
._____.
Seriously? I mean, we're all debating sizing when we don't even have an established name or any articles of clothing TO our name (to my knowledge at least)
Can we get on with MAKING things instead of being bogged down with technicalities?

Re: Sizing for Designs
Well we've thrown out a bunch of name ideas but like I said we don't have everyone's opinion yet...and as for sizing, Margot has the stuff for her corsets and the book to make them and has already made her cuff links but before she can put her cuff links onto elastics she needs wrist sizes and before she can make any corsets besides her own which I think she's started, she needs sizes.
Re: Sizing for Designs
For sizes, I think it would be better if we used accepted sizes with numbers to make it easier. The measurements are on the back of most pattern envelopes.

Re: Sizing for Designs
Corsets are going to be commisioned but that's what I meant with the sizes, that some people need them to finish their WIP.
