The French Cuff Tutorial: http://www.ehow.com/how_5016884_make-french-cuff.html
I was thinking that we'd make a few sizes after measuring people's sizes and seeing which were most usual.

Also, for the corsets, I know that I'll be buying a book for the one I'm making which should have detailed instructions for soft corsets. If someone wants to work with me one this that'll be great too.
Re: Margot's WIP
If you need help then I can lend you a hand if I'm not already drowned by my own projects D:

Lol, so fun fact a lolita told me today.
There's a site.
And they're making corsets with bulletproof material.
HOW SICK IS THAT? XDD

Re: Margot's WIP
The problem is, most bulletproof material is teflon. So while you could do soft corsets with soft boning, if you were doing hard corsets you'd have some pretty amazing needles. Also, I'm interested in what material they used for the lining because it would have to be able to undergo the force needed to pierce the teflon.
Re: Margot's WIP
I thought it was pretty cool xDD I'm not sure what the site is, I sorta forget. It's two words, the first one starts with a 'c' and the second word is corset. But I don't remember any more than that. Maybe a convenient google search could find it xD

Re: Margot's WIP
Yeah, anyhow, it's not especially important though very neat. I'm going to have to wait until after my birthday to order the book (in case I get money) but it should give us the details on what soft corsets are generally made of off since I only know of the thick materials used in hard corsets.
Re: Margot's WIP
What kind of corset is the one that you ordered the pattern and materials for?

No, they'd be far too expensive, fitted, etc However I might do 1 for commission so I'd wear the one I'd made and have on the sign that I did commissions.
Re: Margot's WIP
That's a good idea. Would hemming be a problem at all though?

Re: Margot's WIP
Like having your edges fray and stuff. That's one of the main problems I'm worried about with making skirts to sell; I don't want to have to resort to pinking shiers seeing as they're convenient in the short run but don't really resolve the problem in the end.

Re: Margot's WIP
Oh, because of the double layer, you have to hem to hold the edges together because especially with a corset which is holding flesh in, you need something that isn't going to rip.

Re: Margot's WIP
So no progress on this front because I have yet to receive people's wrist sizes. Llease give them to me. Other than that, I may once we've evaluated our stock choose to do the soft corsets, however it may just be advise and supplies. We shall see.
Re: Margot's WIP
My wrist is 15.5cm//9 and 1/8 inches, but I'm told that I have a very small wrist D:
Are you making slip-on ones or no?
